Gender-affirming surgery (historically, SRS — Sex Reassignment Surgery) is a pivotal step in the transition process for many transgender people. At Timeless Chirurgia Plastyczna, under the leadership of Dr. Janusz Jaworowski, we take a comprehensive approach—combining surgical expertise with compassionate, patient-centered care at every stage.
Preparing for surgery — safety first
Safety is our top priority. Before the procedure, we perform a full set of necessary tests, including imaging and laboratory studies, to minimize the risk of complications. “I’m reviewing the patient’s preoperative results. She has undergone a series of examinations—imaging and blood tests—to keep the process safe. We analyze patients’ health status very carefully before surgery,” explains Dr. Jaworowski.
Each patient receives detailed documentation describing the treatment process step by step. Dr. Jaworowski personally discusses all aspects of the operation, with particular attention to the recovery period. This enables informed preparation for this important stage of life.
The SRS procedure — precision and experience
During gender-affirming surgery (SRS), we reconstruct the genital anatomy to high aesthetic and functional standards. Dr. Jaworowski explains the operative technique in detail:
“The procedure involves creating the target anatomy from your existing tissues. There will be no external incisions; all incisions are placed internally between the labia—between the smaller and larger labia—so the location is very well concealed and should be barely noticeable. Part of your tissue will be used to create the vagina, positioned at appropriate depth. This also allows us to form longer labia majora so they close the vaginal entrance from below. The overall appearance will be natural.”
Throughout the surgery we use advanced techniques to achieve a natural-appearing vulva and a functional vagina. The team’s many years of experience support predictable, consistent outcomes.
Postoperative care — comprehensive support
After surgery, patients remain under our team’s care for several days. During this period, we provide:
- Daily dressing changes
- Physiotherapy
- Regular administration of analgesics and other necessary medications
- Continuous monitoring of vital signs
“We change dressings daily and provide physiotherapy so the patient can leave the hospital and then enjoy good healing in an outpatient setting. Outpatient follow-up is also very important—patients have unlimited access to our clinic visits. We personally care that these visits are frequent, because our eye and experience help nurture healing and keep it safe.”
In the initial period after surgery, a urinary catheter and a vaginal packing/tampon are in place. The packing is typically removed after ~7 days, and the catheter after ~10 days. These are key milestones in recovery, carried out under full medical supervision.
Postoperative recommendations
To achieve the best outcomes, please follow these guidelines after surgery:
- Keep your head flat (not elevated) during the early postoperative period.
- Avoid straining when using the toilet.
- Reintroduce diet gradually—start with warm liquids and easily digestible meals.
- Take medications regularly as prescribed.
Dr. Jaworowski emphasizes: “I’ll come see you and do my best to oversee the entire course of treatment. It’s important that you communicate everything.”
Outcomes and patient satisfaction
Our approach to gender-affirming surgery (SRS) delivers excellent results—both aesthetically and functionally.
“A great many patients operated on at Timeless report tremendous satisfaction with the aesthetics of the perineum and external genitalia, and the functionality of both the vagina and urinary tract is outstanding. We take great care with this and, in our view, achieve some of the best results in this part of Europe.”
Importantly, care does not end when you leave the clinic. We offer the option of touch-up/revision procedures at around 9 months post-op, as part of the overall treatment process.
Unique approach at Timeless Clinic
Our team is distinguished by an empathetic and comprehensive approach to patient care. As Dr. Jaworowski says:
“This is a unique way of approaching patient care and vaginoplasty reconstruction—exceptional, I believe—because it reflects our stance: empathetic, giving patients the chance to achieve their goals, both functional and aesthetic.”
At Timeless Chirurgia Plastyczna, we provide comprehensive preoperative, in-hospital, and long-term outpatient care. Our professional, empathetic medical staff make every effort to ensure that recovery proceeds smoothly and safely.
